Terms of Service
Effective October 10, 2026
These terms cover your use of TimeTug, a macOS app made and operated by Binary Companion, LLC. By downloading or using TimeTug, you agree to these terms.
1. What TimeTug is
TimeTug is menu bar software for macOS that shows your calendar and takes over your screen before meetings start. It runs entirely on your Mac. See the Privacy Policy for what data it reads and how it's handled.
2. The app itself, and redistribution
TimeTug's source code is source-available under MIT with the Commons Clause (github.com/darkarena1/timetug/blob/master/LICENSE), not open source: you can read it, modify it, and build it for your own use, but neither you nor anyone else may sell TimeTug, offer it as a paid product or service, or redistribute copies of it (built or as source, modified or not, charged for or free) without permission. These Terms cover your use of the app as a product on top of that — installing it, connecting your calendars, and relying on it to work.
3. Your calendars and accounts
TimeTug connects to calendar accounts you already control (Apple Calendar, Google Calendar and Microsoft Calendar). You're responsible for those accounts and for whatever you choose to share with TimeTug. TimeTug isn't responsible for the availability, accuracy, or behavior of those calendar services. Supported calendar changes happen only when you initiate them.
4. No warranty
TimeTug is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. It's actively developed, including beta features, and may have bugs, may fail to alert you to a meeting, or may behave unexpectedly. Don't rely on it as your only way of knowing about a meeting that matters.
5. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Binary Companion, LLC isn't liable for any damages arising from your use of TimeTug — including a missed meeting, lost data, or any other loss — even if advised such damages were possible.
6. Future paid features
TimeTug is free today. Some future feature (for example, a subscription add-on) may be paid. Nothing here obligates any feature to stay free, and nothing here charges you anything without your clear consent at the time.
7. Acceptable use
Use TimeTug for its intended purpose. Don't use it to abuse connected calendar APIs, attempt to disrupt the app's update mechanism, or violate the calendar providers' own terms for the accounts you connect.
8. Ending use
You can stop using TimeTug anytime by quitting or uninstalling it. Binary Companion, LLC may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of TimeTug (including the update feed) at any time.
9. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated as TimeTug changes. Material changes will be reflected by a new effective date here.
